Dent Smith Trail

A dedicated effort of founding FIT President Jerome P. Keuper

The "Jungle" as the students called it.

This is the main jungle pathway between the original quad of dorms and the classrooms & laboratories. As a student and later as a frequent visitor I walked through here many years and tried unsuccessfully several times to get a good photo of the ambiance of the environment. Now forty years later with the advent of digital photography and HDR technology I've finally succeeded.

Note the well exposed sky, detail in the shadows, and no overexposed spots on the stones.

This is an excerpt from a high definition full spherical HDR panorama that shows the freshly painted Bork prints* on the pavement that tradition has kept alive for over 40 years ever since my roommate first conceived them. (Bill please contact me)

*The "Bork" is the monster that lives in the "Jungle" that eats 50% of the Freshman class each year. (Well at least that is one explanation why they don't come back for their Sophomore year!)
